Portfolio - Video
During Heather's spring 2008 semester at St. Thomas, she took a videography class. Below are the four video projects she helped produce (conceptualize ideas, write timelines/scripts, and shoot and edit video) with a classmate.

Music Video - "Numb" by Linkin Park
Producing a music video was the final project for the class. It was a lot of work, but watching the final edited video was worth it. Heather and her partner were responsible for many aspects in order to complete the video. It involved choosing a song, creating a storyline that incorporated the song's concept and lyrics, writing out a script, figuring out lots of logistical issues, shooting many different scenes and then putting it all together in the editing lab.
Sequence Video
This sequence video was the first project of the semester. It was a good chance for Heather to get her feet wet again with the video equipment. Since her partner was featured in the video, Heather did a lot of the shooting, as well as some of the editing. The goal was to come up with a short video that chronicled a short quest with a beginning, middle and end.
Dowling Hall Vignette
**Due to a technical difficulty, please skip to the 0:30-second mark for the start of the video.** The admissions department wanted to update the videos online that introduce the different residence halls on campus. Heather and her partner for this project both lived in Dowling, so that made the process a little easier. They interviewed a resident, then compiled that footage with lots of shots featuring different aspects of the building, and matching them up with the dialogue when possible.
"Stop Smoking" PSA
The St. Thomas Wellness Center asked the students in our class to create 30-second public service announcements to promote its "quit kits" that were offered to students in order to help them quit smoking. This video involved a greater focus on using lighting kits to make sure the scenes we shot were properly lit. It was also a bit of a challenge to fit a clear message into just seconds, but the storyline turned out well.
